Edmonton Elks Sign Drew Anderson & Chei Hill

On Tuesday June 29th, the Edmonton Elks announced the signings of 2 American players, quarterback Drew Anderson, and defensive lineman Chei Hill.

Drew Anderson

Anderson (25) is a quarterback who ended his college career at Murray State University, where he threw for 2,864 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. He’d also rush for 225 yards on 54 attempts with 5 rushing touchdowns.

The 6’4″ prospect went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft and would sign with the Arizona Cardinals. He made his debut in week 1 of the 2019 preseason versus the LA Chargers and would score his first professional touchdown the following week versus the Raiders. In 3 preseason appearances, he completed 18 of 32 attempts for 206 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He was waived by the Cardinals in July of 2020.

Anderson signed with The Spring Leagues Jousters for their 2021 season, and although Loius Perez would start the majority of the season, Anderson did find playing time. The Jousters would make it to The Spring Leagues Championship, “The Mega Bowl,” where they would lose to The Linemen 26-23.

Chei Hill

Hill is a defensive end who attended the University of Central Oklahoma in 2020. Before attending Central Oklahoma, the Florida native spent time at Jones College in Mississippi, where he racked up 50 total tackles and 4 sacks in 10 games.
