Blue Bombers Magnifying Defense, Sign Americans DT Will Evans & DB Evan Holm

WINNIPEG, MB., – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have announced that the club has signed American Will Evans and American Evan Holm.

Will Evans is a six-foot-two 242lbs defensive lineman out of Ohio University. During his five year tenure with the Bobcats he developed into a high-level pass rusher. After sitting out his freshman year, Evans would begin to elevate his game playing in 11 games with a total of 15 tackles, one and half sacks and three tackles for loss.

From there on he would never look back as he finished his career with 114 total tackles, nine sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

After his career at Ohio University, he entered his name into the 2022 NFL Draft. He would go on to sign a camp deal with the New York Giants before could the Blue Bombers.

Evan Holm is a 5’11 defensive back out of North Dakota State University. Holms six-year career with the Bison led him to be the star studded athlete he is today. He played in 47 games on defense ranking up 103 total tackles, 33 passes deflected, six interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Holms also ran back kick returns where he was just shy of 1,000 yards for his career on 42 attempts and one touchdown.

After the completion of his career at NDSU, Holm entered his name in the 2022 NFL Draft. He would go on to sign a camp deal with the Indianapolis Colts before he joined the Blue and Gold.

The Blue Bombers have also released defensive linemen Jermey Kapelanski who was injured during rookie camp last week. Kapelanski was the team’s sixth-round pick, 56th overall, in the 2022 CFL Draft. The six-foot-three, 280-pound lineman registered 25 total tackles and three sacks in seven games for the University of Guelph last year.
